Previously held in Laax, Switzerland, the Brits have always been the highlight of the British ski and snowboard calender, and this year Tignes were given the great honour of hosting the event.
Unbeknown to Tignes Spirit, the riders working in our shop turned out to be the highest scoring medallists throughout the event, taking podium finishes across the board and making the local Tignes crowd extremely proud.
If you've ever rented equipment from our shop, had equipment delivered to your apartment or chalet, rented an apartment from us, had your skis or snowboards serviced or repaired in our workshop, or been driven around the resort by a Tignes Spirit staff member, the chances are you will have met one or many of the Brits medallists this year!!
1st - Womens Open Slopestyle (snowboard)
2nd - Womens Rail Jam (snb)
1st - Womens Masters Slopestyle (snb)
1st - Womens Masters Boardercross
3rd - Womens Open Slopestyle (snb)
4th - womens Rail Jam (snb)
1st - Mens Masters Slopestyle (snb)
Of course, many other members of our team entered in the events, and placed extremely well. Maybe holding the Brits on our home turf gave us an advantage? Or maybe we just killed it?!
Ben Rumney - Rail Jam (snb)
Tim Oriss - Skicross
Alex Cronin - Skicross
Rich Murray - Boardercross
Kevin Halls - Boardercross
Given the opportunity of rolling out of bed and onto the course (instead of making the 10 hour drive over to Laax) a huge amount of Tignes locals entered the competition and surprised the judges by throwing huge tricks and placing quick times.
The seasonnaire community in Tignes is massively supportive and insanely large crowds gathered to watch each event and cheer on their friends.
Here's to next year... we're training already!
