If you’re reading this, you probably love skiing and snowboarding. And if you love skiing and snowboarding, you probably want to do it all year round.
While most ski resorts are shutting down over the summer, in Tignes we’re lucky enough to have the Grande Motte Glacier so you can still come and ski and snowboard during the summer. And with the summer sun comes all sorts of other activities that make it the perfect place to come for a summer holiday. It’s not all about beaches you know!
If you fancy a day off from the slopes, how about checking out the spectacular scenery with a leisurely walk or hike around the mountains. Or even better, how about a glacier walk for a truly unique experience?
There’s a whole load of outdoor activities that will particularly get the kids excited: quad biking, horse riding, mountain biking and a skate park – and trampolining is available exclusively in summer.
For the more adventurous among you (probably the snowboarders!), there’s white water rafting, paragliding and rock climbing. If climbing all that way isn’t your thing, there are regular helicopter tours that’ll take your breath away.
Tignes is a whole different place in summer and the milder weather means that should you wish a relaxed afternoon playing golf – you can do that. You can also play volleyball, basketball or beach soccer.
Now we’re not saying that you would want to do anything other than ski – and not many people get the opportunity to go skiing during summer – but these things are all available to you should you wish a break from the summer snow sports. Not only are they available, but imagine the astounding backdrop to it all: beach soccer in the mountains. There’s something write home about.
Most people probably only think about going on a group ski holiday or snowboarding holiday in the winter months when most ski resorts are open, but with skiing and snowboarding available all year round along with everything else available; a ski holiday in Tignes might just be the summer holiday you always dreamed of.
