McNair Snowsports arrives in Tignes!
British Snowboard Coach and BASI Trainer Neil McNair is breaking onto the Tignes Scene this winter with packages suitable for riders of all levels.
Previously a director of Alliance Snowboarding, Neil has over 12 years of worldwide experience in professional snowboard tuition and His new school is guaranteed to offer a more personalized and experimental approach to snowboard coaching.
Based in Tignes, Val d'Isere and St Foy, the new school is sponsored by Signal Snowboards, Analog and Dragon. They also recommend Tignes Spirit for snowboard equipment and rental of protective clothing!
Neil's programs are aimed at using your board to get the most of the terrain, no matter what the conditions throw at you. Freeride and freestyle, he's got it covered, and with his pre-season instructor training courses kicking off this November, there's no excuse!
Off-Piste?
For freeriding and tackling the difficult off-piste areas that the Espace Killy area is so famous for, Neil teaches the technique required to make these dreams a reality.
Neil believes that, "you must understand the tactics required to ride different snow types – the speed needed, the correct line and turn shape for the pitch you’re attacking. We will work with your mental approach to certain situations helping you develop trust and confidence when most needed. Finally we will take you to the areas of the mountain you have only dreamt about."
Fear of the Park?
The parks of Val d'Isere and Tignes are among some of the best in Europe and with Tignes as the host of the European X Games, the resort's reputation as a freestyle mecca has been well established in recent years.
"It’s about expressing yourself through your riding, finding your own style. If we only ever made turns where would our inspiration to continue to ride come from? Nollie backside 180, switch up to pole tap, slash the bank then cloudburst the slow sign to finish."
If you'd like to learn how to ride the mountain like it's a huge park then Neil's Park Development programs could well be for you. The programs are designed for more experienced freestylers to competitive riders and are specific to your goals.
