It was a perfect sunny and warm day in the Tignes Val Claret snowpark. The kickers were shaped and it was the start of a great day. Ali from Tignes Spirit was heating up the bbq and the tunes were pumping!
The qualifications were on the blues (apparently) so we all went up in a group to start going through and warming up. Andy Moss, Harry Hunter, Gavin Leakey and Dave Crozier all got the lift up and spirits were high. The great thing about the day was that it was more of Jam session and we all pushed each other with smiles all round.
We started off by boshing over the rails and trying to put a nice run together on the blues. Back 180, cab 3 then cab 5 but the speed was wack so Harry started busting out frontflips. It wasn't long before we all went to the red line with 1 booter at the top, and a cannon rail followed by another kicker at the bottom. We started off sensibly but then it got a little mad with Dave White pulling out double backflips on his skis followed by a switch backflip off the bottom kicker.
The final came and Tignes Spirit's Harry Hunter was representing us all. He put down a run of a backside 900 followed by 50-50 to frontflip off the cannon and ending with a rodeo. He admits he was sketching on the landings on the kickers however the day spent with his mates and the format of the competition pushed him to try stuff he has never done before and there's no better winner than that...
Tignes Spirit would like to thank all the sponsors involved and a big thanks to Switch Rideurs for organising the fantastic day... stay tuned as rumour has it there is another competition in April!!!
Big congratulations to all competitors involved! GWAN DANGEROUS DAVE!!!
