Encompassing a more sophisticated atmosphere and top end menu, the Couloir, situated in the upper area of Val Claret, has recently opened with a new team for this coming year.
Open from 3pm til late daily, the friendly team offer a select evening menu and quality drinks, amongst cosy and relaxed surroundings.
Our evening there went off splendidly. Hosted by new manager Christian, who made us feel super welcome, we sampled the house wines before being shown to our table by the lovely Becki.
The rennovations, undertaken in the summer, have rekindled the Couloir vibe from a few years ago, when a quality night out with top notch food, drinks, music and good crew were synonymous with an edgy bar/restaurant.
The decor is warm, soft and chalet-esque, although there is a more up-market feel to the place and the equally-balanced mix of French and English chatter is also refreshing.
We'd highly recommend the 'Crispy pork belly layered with apple boudin noir, 3-root dauphinoise, winter greens and pork gravy', followed by the 'double chocolate brownie & vanilla pod ice cream' for an awesome evening of quality food and great atmosphere!
