The great weather at this time of year allows for different kinds of skiing and snowboarding. Touring is very popular in Tignes and Val d'Isere, mainly because of how close we are to the Vanoise national park, home to many kinds of wildlife, amazing refuges away from the crowds and off the beaten track, along with the brilliant untracked spring snow that Tignes is renowned for.
Here at Tignes Spirit, we have an amazing selection of touring skis, skins, splitboards and snow shoes available for rent or to buy. We work with Movement, Signal, Spark, Marker, Inook and many other smaller, independent brands to offer some of the best spring kit in Tignes and Val d'Isere!

We are pleased to stock a vast range of Movement touring specific skis which are super light weight and come with individually-cut skins. The Marker bindings fit any alpine or touring boot so there's no faff when swopping over from your alpine skis. The alpine to touring mode is super easy to swop on the Marker bindings, so you're not wasting time and freezing your fingers off when changing your equipment at the top of your climb!
There is something for everyone in the Movement range, from occasional tourer to full-on professional. For those who haven't tried this before, we recommend that you have some instruction from a local ski or snowboard instructor, who are trained in navigation and avalanche safety. They will know the best areas to go to for the most impressive scenery and of course the most untracked snow!
We have a range of sizes in the Signal Epic splitboard, which can be rented from our shop here in Tignes le lavachet. You can also buy them direct from us here at the shop.
Whilst there is now quite a choice of splitboards on the market, this board is designed for two things; touring up and slaying lines on the way back down!
All our split boards can be rented on a daily basis, along with skins which have been cut to size, and Spark bindings, the highest quality in splitboard binding technology.
Our Movement skins are cut to size for each ski to ensure that they have the best fit and the most grip possible. The mixture of 70% mohair and 30% nylon ensures great glide and durability, which will improve your uphill ascent no end, and leave you with far more energy to enjoy the ride down!
Our stock of Inook snowshoes fit feet of all shapes and sizes! If you don't fancy splitboarding, you can attach your normal snowboard to the back of your bag and use snowshoes for the ascent instead.
We also stock Movement microscopic poles to assist you with your uphill walk. They fold up smaller than adjustable poles so you can tuck them safely away during your ride down. These poles also come in especially handy for anyone who would prefer to use snowshoes to go for a leisurely stroll in the snow!
