A fresh dump last weekend meant that Tignes Spirit boys Bratty and Greener, along with some of the Brassero’s team, and a load of the TC’s crew spent the last week digging and shaping, building a pretty sweet set up out of recycled plant pots, old piping and rubber matting.
The set up consisted of a side on pipe to huge drop, a side hit and a huge skinny spine, perfect for both skiers and boarders to jam on! Practice kicked off at 3pm and after a few cheeky pints, more and more people got involved, and by 4.30pm there was a pretty epic crew sessioning the features.
Tignes Spirit workshop manager Charlie Marshall was killing it with his signature 50/ 50 to Tame Dog out of the pipe (on his new Signal Troubadour). He bagged himself two hot dogs and a jug of beer, a bottle of Genepi and a sweet Rhythm jacket donated to the prize bag by ourselves. Along with a super stylish nose press back 1 out, and a couple of front flips, workshop crew member Glen Burton was getting pretty techy on the pipe with a 270 on 270 off in switch, winning himself a breakfast for two.
Nick East was representing the skiers and smashing it with switch ups, pretzels, some crazy spins out of the pipe and some super nice lazy boys three’s off the little kicker. Brasero’s chef and Tignes local Tom Heath-Netherton pulled a huge underflip out the bag and some really styley stalls on the spine, landing him first place and a brand new set of Dragon Goggles and a comment of ‘I owe it all to Guinness’!
Kiwi rider Jordy sucked it up with some pretty ballsy backflip attempts on the kicker... after her 5th or 6th hit she had an epic fall , landing on her shoulder resulting in a brokencollarbone in three places….Get well soon Jordy you crazy kiwi!!
UK Fridge kid Josh Johnston from Ski The Kingdom showed us the results of regularly skiing rails with some super techy rail hits, multiple switch ups, and some sick spins both on and off the pipe. Nick and JJ wowed the crowd by linking up Real Ski-Fi style, hitting the rail and landing pretty clean, stomping some hilarious piggyback stalls!
The Prizes consisted of a Rhythm jacket and some free ski services from Tignes Spirit, chicken and some pretty tasty fry ups from TC’s, free pizza from Pizza Mick, hot dogs from Queue du Cochon and plenty of booze!
