The Grand Motte glacier opened today for summer skiing in Tignes. Ideal for any of you out there who can't wait until next winter to get your ski or snowboard fix!
This year the opening dates are from 27th June until 9th August 2015. The Grand Motte Funicular runs from Tignes Val Claret up to the Grand Motte glacier, it is a daily service starting at 07:15 and operating until the 13:00 (weather dependant). Access to the glacier is from 4th July to 9th August 2015.
If mountain biking or hiking is your thing then the lifts open from the June 27th to August 30th 2015 & they're still FREE this summer!
WARNING: The last lift from Val d’Isère to Tignes via the Borsat chairlift is at 16:25.
Pedestrians can also get access to the glacier in summer via the funicular & the cable car: Access to the Palafour lift, Tufs lift & the Toviere gondola is free!
