My home slope is Aberdeen Snowsports Centre. It's a special place for me because it's where I learnt to ride and I know everyone there.
My first snowboard lesson was when I was nine and a half. I got into snowboarding because both my parents skied and I wanted to be different and try something new.
I get inspired by all the videos that I watch and look at them and try and see if there's anything there I can bring into my snowboarding. However I also get inspired and motivated by the people who I ride with all the time. The real motivation from them is if they are doing a tweak or a grab that I can't or just a spin that I can't... then I'm motivated to go and do that, or something like it, but better!
I have visited Tignes, Hintertux and Avoriaz.
Apart from snowboarding I really enjoy windsurfing because it's a real buzz when you plan the board and jump high.
I balance snowboarding with school by working really hard when I'm not snowboarding. I also take work away with me if I'm going to miss school. I windsurf whenever the wind is good.
I don't dislike competing but I definitely prefer just riding for fun. I'm best on jumps, probaby because I have never had the chance to go into the proper backcountry.
My top tip for anyone starting snowboarding is "don't give up"!
My three favourite things about Tignes are the long runs, the great park with a pipe and the atmosphere in the evenings.
