For the second year in a row we have teamed up with Metro to offer the chance to win 5 pairs of tickets to the show. For those not lucky enough to win we will be offering a discount on tickets for everyone. Details for the competition will be posted later today but for now read what Metro have to say about their show.
The Ski and Snowboard Show returns to London Olympia this year, with a host of new show features, including an indoor arena with real snow, Après Ski entertainment and a credit crunching ticket offer, with entry costing less than un Grand Bier dans Les Alps.
For the first time, visitors will be able to access all areas of the winter sports spectacle from as little as £5 when buying tickets for the opening day. So, whether you’re a St Moritz seasonaire, a Val d'Isere virgin, or just looking for an exciting family day out, the Ski and Snowboard Show is your winter wonderland of choice this October.
At the centre of this year’s show will be the legendary 50ft kicker, where visitors can watch the crème de la crème perform gravity defying tricks. Both the British Snow Tour Championship and the London Ride competition return, showcasing some of the world’s best skiers and riders as they battle it out for big air.
Mashing up next season’s snowsports apparel, high fashion and show stopping choreography is what the Brand Arena does best. And it’s back with even more iconic brands including Bonfire, Westbeach, Faiise, Skins and Salomon all launching their winter collections in a visually explosive catwalk show that’s sure to inspire your winter wardrobe.
If this year’s show has inspired you to jump on a plane and head for the mountains, then the World Resorts Village is your next stop. The W.R.V. plays host to a wealth of tour operators and independent experts all on hand to offer advice and guidance to ensure your next winter holiday is an unforgettable experience. While you’re there, be sure to take a break and have a drink at the 3 Valleys Resort Bar.
If it’s delicious food you’re after, head to the World Food Kitchen and go on a culinary tour of the globe without leaving the capital. Mouth watering delights from France, Austria, Italy and as far afield as Japan will be sure to satisfy even the finest of palates.
A new word for a new area of the show! The Zillertal Après Ski bar comes to the 2009 Ski and Snowboard show, allowing visitors to chill and relax in style, soaking up an Alpine vibe in the heart of London Town. The legendary Gigloo – a gig in an igloo – also returns with a host of up and coming bands and entertainers. The Gigloo will also be featuring live stand-up comedy, from the likes of Andrew Maxwell and his Full Mooners.
Taste the powder and enjoy your first off piste run of the season with some inspirational talks, films and guidance from mountain experts. You can also check out the latest snowboarding gear as core snowboard brands showcase their 09/10 kit and give visitors the opportunity to talk to professionals about how to choose the right board and essential equipment.
