Regulation Santa hats are now the order of the day on the snowy slopes of Tignes and Val d'Isere. This can only mean one thing - the Christmas and new year party season is kicking off!
There are plenty of treats planned in the resort this week, making sure that Tignes is a winter wonderland this Christmas.
First up, on Wednesday 23rd, we have the traditional Christmas market in Tignes le lac from 10am. The slopestyle contest in Val Claret has been organised by Evolution 2 and is programmed to start at 5pm at the ski school assembly point. This display of freestyle madness is sure to wow the crowds.
The Christmas 'Disco on Ice' at the outdoor ice-skating rink in Tignes le lac will have everyone dancing. With plenty of hot wine and hot chocolates, this is one event not to be missed. The action kicks off from 8-10pm at the outdoor ice-skating rink in Tignes le lac. Get your gear on and limber up your ice-skating manoeuvres for plenty of festive frolics!
Christmas eve in resort will be a winner! Santa HIMSELF is coming to le Lavachet from 5.30pm to chat to the children, whilst mums and dads can sip on hot wine. Santa will then nip off in his sleigh to Val Claret, where the instructors from ESF will be performing a torchlit procession. At around the same time, torchlit processions into Tignes les Brevieres and Tignes le lac will take place, with plenty of hot wine and hot chocolate on tap!
Father Christmas will be visiting all areas of Tignes throughout the day, spreading Christmas cheer. At 5pm, there will be a showing of 'Adrenaline Hunter' in the Maison de Tignes and an ice hockey tournament will take place on the outdoor ice rink in le lac, where everyone is welcome to take part.
All in all, an action-packed Christmas week with plenty to see and do!
