We've been waiting with baited breath, and finally it has arrived. The line up for the British Olympic team 2010 was announced this week, with Chemmy Alcott, Dave Ryding, Ed Drake and Andy Noble named to compete in the downhill ski racing.
Zoe Gillings will be priming herself for a medal in the boardercross, whilst Ben Kilner is taking on the halfpipe for the men. Boosting her moves in preparation for her third Olympic medal, we'll have our fingers crossed for seasoned rider Lesley McKenna who will be competing in the women's halfpipe event.
An excited Zoe says, "Representing your country really is the ultimate honour, and I make no secret of how much I love being part of Team GB."
Lee-Steve Jackson will be GB's only Biathlon entrant, whilst Nicola Minichiello, Gillian Cooke, Paula Walker and Kelly Thomas have been selected to bring home medals in the bobsleigh events.
Nicola Minichiello says, "It's no exaggeration to say that since we won the World Championship last year, everything that our team has done has been focused around the Oympic Winter Games. Our aim has always been to hit peak form when we reach Vancouver, and that's what we plan to achieve."
Safe to say, it will definitely be worth tuning in to the Winter Olympics 2010 in February to catch all the snowy action as it unfurls in Whistler and Vancouver. Team GB has a strong chance and we look forward to following their progress throughout the games.
