Men's olympic halfpipe was a nail-biter of an event in Vancouver last night...

Shaun White did it again and claimed Olympic glory for the second time last night, but the other competitors fought an amazing battle in an effort to provide an evening of epic entertainment. But just how do they pull those tricks?!

Britain's Ben Kilner gave an uber-impressive performance with some amazing stunts to roll with the best of them. Taking an amazing 12th place, he is definitely one to watch for future events. In a 3-part mini-film courtesy of Whitelines magazine, here's the lovely 21-year old Aberdonian lad giving us the lowdown on his preparations for the Winter Olympics 2010.

Shaun stomps his 'mega' trick...

The defending champion Shaun White dazzled the judges with his tricks that included the gravity-defying Double McTwist 1260. No surprises then that the ultimate king of men's halfpipe, Shaun White, rocked into the top slot after his first run in Vancouver.

White scored 48.4 out of 50 in his second run after 46.8 in his first, which was in itself enough to seal the title. Finland's Peetu Piiroinen took silver with a score of 45.0 and Scott Lago of the United States won bronze with 42.8.

Hot favourite White had the luxury of starting his second run knowing he was already the Olympic champion - the same situation he faced in Turin in 2006 after dominating the competition.

One of the top names at these Games, 23-year-old White came to Vancouver as the hot favourite having last month won his third consecutive gold in the X Games superpipe. However, the field was missing US snowboarders Kevin Pearce and Danny Davis, both of whom were potential challengers to White's crown but were injured before the Games.

The pressure is now on for Aspen local Gretchen Bleiler and Australian Torah Bright to follow in Shaun's footsteps and battle it out for the gold in the Women's Half Pipe event tonight. Our money is on Lesley McKenna however, representing Britain, who will be competing in her second Olympics and has some brilliant tricks up her sleeve. Go on Lesley!!
